Meet the Concrete Crew

Connie

Concrete Connie
Connie, the visionary behind the business, has been inspiring the Silver Springs Concrete Services team for over 25 years. In addition to many years on the job, she has received important education, honed her skills and earned certificates, as the world of concrete has evolved. Connie enjoys meeting and working with the community during site visits, however, her greatest pleasure is working on commercial projects. One of the most exciting projects Connie has had the opportunity to work on is the bridge on Okanagan Lake which was a two-year endeavour. Outside of the office, Connie enjoys casual hiking and is interested in wildlife in general. At home, she has an impressive pond which is home to over 100 goldfish. She also welcomes a family of ducks who return year after year.

Karl

Concrete Karl
Karl has been finishing concrete for 38 years. In 1994 he and his sister Connie took on the opportunity to purchase the company from their father. His team has become like family, and his customers have become friends. He takes his leadership role in the company very seriously and strives to provide the highest quality of service. When he can get away from the concrete hustle, Karl likes to head out camping with his wife, Judy, and two dogs. Getting the RV parked in the bush and driving around in his Suzuki on the logging roads is one of his favourite ways to spend his time. In the winter he enjoys riding his snowmobile with his son, Devin and their family friends.

Andrea

Dispatch
Andrea has been Dispatch for Silver Springs Concrete Services since March 2019. She has a total of 6 years in the concrete industry, working in the concrete supply for 5 years before coming to Silver Springs. She has taken "BCRMCA Basic Concrete and Technology Workshop and Examination", "BCRMCA Concrete Dispatcher Training Workshop", as well as "The End User Respiratory Training". She was born in New Westminster and moved to Kelowna in 1997. Lifestyle in the Okanagan is perfect for her and her family. Going to the beach, riding bikes and scooters, taking the dog for a walk, tobogganing, and building snowmen are some of Andrea's favourite things to do with her son. She also loves to play ringette or hockey whenever a team needs a goalie.

Steve

Sales/Marketing
Kelowna born and raised, Steve is no stranger to the business as he grew up around the family’s concrete business and often helped out when not travelling to world events as a competitive free style mountain biker. These days Steve works in sales and marketing and appreciates the opportunity to work locally with the community creating functional and decorative concrete designs from forming to finish. When he is not on the job, you’ll find him enjoying the outdoors in beautiful British Columbia, riding bikes or shooting photography. Creatively speaking, Steve has a keen eye for attention to detail that homeowners really appreciate along with an honest straight forward approach.

Gina

Accounting/Human Resources
Gina has been with Silver Springs Concrete Services since March of 2012. She has a total of 20 years of experience in management and loves learning new skills and practices. Her favorite part of the job is talking to customers. She takes pride in doing her best to make everyone feel like they are important, because in her opinion, everyone is! Gina has called Kelowna home for almost 40 years and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Camping and fishing with her husband, two grown daughters, and her dog are her favorite things to do when she isn’t tending to her flower gardens or vegetable and berry patches.

FOUNDERS TRIBUTE

It was the year 1972 when Rainer Krissler, along with wife Gisela, founded Silver Springs Concrete Services in Kelowna, BC. Rainer made a positive impact within the concrete community and grew the business with integrity.

Upon retirement, Rainer passed along the very accomplished, family owned and operated concrete finishing business to his children, Connie and Karl. In his retirement, Rainer spent endless hours with his wife and family in the surrounding mountains fishing, hunting, collecting mushrooms and appreciating all of nature’s offerings.

Sadly, Rainer passed in 2020 but will always be remembered as an incredibly hard-working man with many true talents. Rainer is deeply missed by all for his endless energy to help family, friends and neighbours.
